Captioned Shorts - Video Formats
So you know what you want to say in your video and you are ready to submit your captioned text, but which format should you choose? And more specifically, what is a format, and why should I care? Great question! The video's format is its aspect ratio, otherwise known as the video's dimensions (Width:Height). This could range from 1:1 (square) to 9:16 (vertical), and anywhere in between. Each social media site has its own format requirements that the video needs to meet. So it is important to understand what these are, and how you plan to use your video, to determine which formats are best for you. In this section we explain what this means so you can choose the right formats for your video.
Video Elements
Video Format is just one of a number of video elements that defines a video file. Before we jump specifically into video format, let's define each element.

Video Format (Aspect Ratio)
The video's aspect ratio is defined as its frame proportions (I.e. 9:16, 1:1, etc.). Gone are the days of choosing between 4:3 or 16:9. The mobile phone has revolutionized the way video content is consumed, and with that, the way video looks. The current major mobile aspect ratios accepted on social media sites are identified below. We can produce your captioned short in any of these formats, It's your choice. We will create two formats for you when we produce your captioned short. Each additional format is $75.

Our Format Recommendations
So which Format is best for you? That of course will depend on which site(s) you will use, and if you are uploading to just your site(s) organically, or running your video as an ad on any of the sites. We have done our homework for you and outlined below our recommendations on the best format(s) to use for each site application. Note that video format requirements are fluid and subject to change. We will do out best to keep up with the changes and keep our customers posted on these changes. All the formats below work for both organic and ad posts.
Facebook
* TikTok allows for lots of text overlays when creating your video description. When uploading a 9:16 video to TikTok we recommend keeping your video descriptions short so TikTok overlays are minimized. With our fully captioned trailers there is no need for a long video descriptions.
Each site has its own video specifications that a video must meet, whether you are posting the video organically to the site or as an ad placement. From video and audio container types to frames per second and video resolution, all of our videos meet the requirements that a social site will throw at you, so know that we've got your back there.
Video Resolution
Another video specification that social media sites require as defined above is resolution. There are minimums and maximums. Video resolution is defined as the number of pixels that your video contains (I.e. 1080 x 1920 pixels, 1280 x 720 pixels, etc.). This resolution defines the size (width and height), of your video. All of our videos meet the minimum and maximum resolution requirements of most of the major social sites, be it on your page directly, or an ad that you run on the site. So there is nothing you need to do here, other than understand what video resolution is.
Note that the higher your video resolution is, generally the larger the video file will be. Why? Because in order to ensure good quality, the bigger your video is the more bits per second that the video needs to be encoded in. And the more bits per second, the larger the file. Think of it like dots per inch (DPI) in printing. The more dots per inch allocated to a document, the better its quality, and the larger its file size.
Below is the resolution for each of of the formats that we produce (In the rare case that a site calls for a lower resolution, we can accommodate that if need be).
Format Resolution
9:16 1080x1920
1:1 1080x1080
4:5 1080x1360
